Hyderabad: To counter social media misinformation targeting the Congress govt and its leaders, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has lodged two complaints with Hyderabad police. Two FIRs were registered—one over false claims regarding the govt's fine rice scheme, and the other for a morphed video defaming chief minister A Revanth Reddy. The content was shared on X.

A case was registered under BNS sections 353(2) (statements conducing to public mischief), 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace), and 336(4) (forgery to harm reputation) on April 17 against unidentified persons.

Sajjan stated the video and caption were "false, fabricated, and intended to mislead the public and create fear."
