What is the most pressing issue in your district?
A critical issue to me in this election is addressing gun violence prevention. In October 2021, Prince George's County had an alarming increase in gun violence resulting in 110 homicides over 31 days. We're losing our families and loved ones to gun violence because we DON'T have adequate resources in place for gun violence prevention in Prince George's County. Instead of having gun violence prevention conversations, Prince George's County Police Department established a "Gun Intelligence Unit." Our communities do NOT need more over-policing. We need funding to help bring well-paying jobs to our neighborhoods, affordable housing, and emotional-behavioral therapy support.
