4 N.J. pharmacies agree to pay $4.3 million in false claims settlement - nj.com

Four pharmacies in Hudson County agreed to pay more than $4 million to settle claims that they billed federal healthcare programs for medications they never filled, federal prosecutors said.

The pharmacies were located in West New York, Bayonne, Union City and Jersey City, officials said.

Pan American Inc. agreed to pay $3.1 million after the company was accused of filing claims with Medicare Part D and the New Jersey Medicaid Program for claims the company filed between January 2015 and January 2022 but never dispensed, officials said.

Well Care Pharmacy agreed to pay $490,000 after billing Medicare Part D for drugs they never dispensed between January 2016 and March 2022, officials said.

Farmacia Latina Corp. agreed to pay $375,000 to resolve allegations they billed Medicare for drugs they never dispensed between January 2015 and January 2022, and Perfect Care Pharmacy agreed to pay $360,000 for drugs they never dispensed but billed Medicare for, officials said.

There was no determination of liability, according to the settlements, officials said.
