"A Huge Step Forward": Nicoya Acquires Applied Photophysics - Samfiru Tumarkin LLP

What Happened?

Nicoya Lifesciences (Nicoya) has acquired fellow biotechnology company, Applied Photophysics.

“This is a huge step forward in expanding our biologics characterization tools, empowering scientists in drug discovery,” the Kitchener-based company said in a recent LinkedIn post.

“Our combined expertise means scientists now have a comprehensive suite of tools to understand the structure, function, and stability of complex biologics, speeding up the development of life-saving therapies.”

The acquisition, which reportedly closed in May, marks Nicoya’s second purchase to date. In 2022, the company added LSK Technologies to its portfolio.
