'A lot more work to do' on guns, Biden says after mass shooting at Highland Park parade - The Washington Post

Today, President Biden awarded the Medal of Honor — the nation’s highest recognition for combat valor — to four soldiers who fought through extraordinarily difficult battles in the Vietnam War decades ago.

“Time has not diminished their astonishing bravery, their selflessness and putting the lives of others ahead of their own and the gratitude that we as a nation owe them,” Biden said during a ceremony at the White House. Those honored were Staff Sgt. Edward N. Kaneshiro, Spec. Dwight W. Birdwell, Spec. Dennis M. Fujii and Maj. John J. Duffy. Birdwell, Fujii and Duffy attended the ceremony. Kaneshiro died on March 6, 1967, in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, an Atlanta-area grand jury investigating potential criminal interference in Georgia’s 2020 election has subpoenaed Rudy Giuliani and other members of former president Donald Trump’s legal team, as well as John Eastman, a conservative lawyer who advised Trump on a path to overturn the election. Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) also has been subpoenaed regarding phone calls allegedly placed to Georgia’s secretary of state.

The special grand jury in Fulton County, Ga., investigating potential interference in the state’s 2020 election has issued subpoenas for Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) and members of former president Donald Trump’s legal team, including Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman.
