Terry Gerton We’re going to talk about False Claims Act. The Department of Justice announced that 2025 was a record-breaking year for them, $6.8 billion in recoveries and almost 1,300 cases. What is driving this growth in False Claims Act enforcement?

Kate Seikaly I think a few different things. DOJ puts out these statistics each year. I think for 2025 the numbers exploded. Six point eight billion is definitely an eye-catching number. Part of that is, I think a couple, a handful of really big settlements that just happened to close in the fiscal year. But also, you’re absolutely right, there is just a huge explosion of these cases being filed and then resolving themselves somehow. I think what’s driving it is a lot of private action enforcement.
