If Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) didn't have double standards, he'd have no standards at all.

The California representative, who frequently lamented the spread of misinformation and its subsequent threat to democracy but was a frequent purveyor of it himself declared he was running for U.S. Senate on Thursday, as the Washington Examiner reported. Schiff is seeking Sen. Dianne Feinstein's (D-CA) seat.

If Adam Schiff listened to his comments from recent years about politicians who allegedly spread misinformation, Adam Schiff would think that Adam Schiff shouldn't be elected to the Senate. He's routinely commented on how anyone who spreads misinformation threatens our democracy. He has spoken about it and repeatedly tweeted that "misinformation is dangerous." Schiff is the exact danger he repeatedly warned the country about.

Consider Schiff's long history of battles with the truth. He made false claims of Russian collusion by former President Donald Trump. He stated that he had "more than circumstantial evidence" of such wrongdoing between Russia and Trump, but it turned out he had no such evidence.

Then there was Schiff's attempt to obstruct the release of former Rep. Devin Nunes's memo in 2018, which detailed the FBI spying on a Trump campaign staffer in October 2016 after obtaining warrants that were based on misleading "politically motivated or questionable sources." It turned out Nunes was telling the truth — Schiff was lying.
