Addleshaw Goddard Ireland hosted its annual Employment Law Training Day at The Merrion, bringing together industry representatives to explore key employment trends shaping 2026.
The half-day event focused on providing attendees with the latest updates on recent advancements in Employment and Immigration Law in Ireland, along with practical training and support for navigating issues within the workplace.
With June fast approaching, when the EU Pay Transparency Directive is to be transposed into national law, Addleshaw Goddard, supported by colleagues from its offices across Europe, provided invaluable insight into the implications the Directive will have on the recruitment, promotion, and pay processes of businesses operating in Ireland and across Europe. While the national legislation and guidance have not yet been published, attendees were provided with practical steps as to how they can start to prepare for this legislation.
The event also explored other areas of change to Employment Law, including: Revenue guidance on employment misclassification and the recent WRC approach; 2024 EU platform‑worker directive; Handling requests to work past contractual retirement age; Evolving trends in flexible, remote, and part‑time work requests; Immigration law changes, the Government action plan to promote collective bargaining rights and the directive to strengthen the role of European Works Councils.
