AECOM Corp. may pursue information about Xavier University’s settlement with the government in a False Claims Act suit alleging fraud in projects intended to rebuild Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina.

The information is relevant to the company’s defense, Judge Eldon E. Fallon of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana said in a Tuesday order.

Xavier settled with the government for $12 million in June 2020. The government said Xavier submitted false and misleading repair estimates prepared by AECOM on its behalf.
