Attorney General Marty Jackley is bringing charges against two former state employees for their alleged role in forging vehicle titles. The charges come a month-and-a-half after Jackley's office says it discovered a now deceased employee forged more than a dozen titles to secure almost $400,000 worth of loans.

U.S Senator Tim Johnson has died. The former chair of the Senate Banking Committee was one of the last democrats in South Dakota to win a statewide office.

With months of turmoil in Sturgis city government, some citizens are actively seeking to recall the current mayor. The main issue stems from her appointment following the prior mayor's resignation.

Long hours, heavy caseloads, and low pay exacerbates a root cause of a lack of public defenders in South Dakota. However, those in the position say there is both opportunity and reason to consider indigent work.
