AGI Files Lawsuit Against SEIU Over Airport Working Conditions Claims | 2026 - News and Statistics - IndexBox

Alliance Ground International (AGI) has taken legal action against the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), filing a lawsuit and seeking a preliminary injunction over what it describes as false and misleading statements about working conditions at airports, which were aimed at AGI's clients and other interested parties.

This legal step comes after the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) launched an investigation. That inquiry was triggered by an OSHA complaint submitted by the SEIU on behalf of AGI employees at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and LaGuardia Airport, who had voiced concerns about their work environment.

Local 32BJ of the SEIU claims that workers have suffered from heat-related illnesses, defective vehicle brakes, prior on-the-job injuries, vehicles operating in unsafe states, hazardous working conditions, a lack of mirrors on certain vehicles, and inadequate training.

AGI, however, asserts that the SEIU has orchestrated a systematic effort involving false and misleading statements directed at AGI's customers and other stakeholders. The company argues that this campaign aims to harm its client relationships and pressure AGI into bypassing employees' right to decide through a vote whether they want union representation.
