Aims Community College is offering new open enrollment courses for local businesses and their employees, in efforts to serve an evolving workforce.
Upcoming open enrollment opportunities include Value Stream Mapping, Seven Tools of Quality, Keeping and Retaining Employees and Project Managment. Seminars are also available in Basics of Employment Law, OSHA 30-hour for General Industry and Construction, Lockout-Tagout and more.
In February, 25 business and industry leaders met with the Aims Workforce Development and Continuing Education departments to discuss specific training and course topics to assist their companies, according to a news release from the college. Popular topics included leadership development, continuous improvement and safety.
“We take pride in our role as ambassadors for Aims to the business community. We love to introduce companies to all the wonderful academic programs, services and state-of-the-art facilities available to them and their employees,” Shayna Howell, Aims Workforce Development and Innovation director, said in the release.
Aims also works with companies to provide customized corporate training solutions to upskill their workforce. The college offers training “when, where, and how a company requests it,” the release states.
