AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - The Akron Zoo responded Saturday in a social media post to false claims that its African lions escaped earlier this week.
The zoo said some of the false information shared included an AI-generated image of a lion in Akron, adding that “our lions remain in the safety of their habitat.”

“To ensure the safety of our guests, volunteers and staff, we do an annual drill with APD and AFD,” the zoo said.
