Alaska’s hourly minimum wage will increase to 10.85 from $10.34 effective Jan. 1, 2023, according to an Oct. 20 alert on the state labor and workforce development department’s website.

The announcement confirms Bloomberg Tax’s Aug. 12 calculations.

The weekly salary threshold for exempt executive, administrative, and professional employees will rise to $868 from $827.20. The salary threshold is equal to twice the minimum wage rate for a 40-hour workweek, under the state’s wage and hour law.

Alaska does not allow tips to be credited toward employers’ minimum wage obligations.
