Albertsons Cos. negligently failed to protect the personal information of 33,000 employees in connection with a December 2022 data breach, a proposed federal class action said.
Laura Medina alleged that Albertsons breached its duty to protect employees’ personal information, failed to comply with the data-security guidelines of the FTC, and failed to follow industry standards for the protection of sensitive data.
The grocery company also failed to provide affected individuals timely notice of the breach, she said.
