Alexandre Girard-Létourneau is an associate in the Labour and Employment Law group at our Québec City office. Since he quickly focused his practice on labour and employment law, he has already accumulated a wide range of experience in this area. He has worked in both the public service and in one of the largest Québec companies in Canada. He has worked as in-house legal counsel and has also acted as a representative before various labour and employment tribunals.
As a labour relations litigator in the Québec public service, Alexandre represented various government departments and agencies in labour relations matters. Not only did he become familiar with the content and structure of several collective agreements, but he also honed his instincts and advocacy skills in all types of proceedings. He appeared before the Tribunal administratif du travail, the Commission de la fonction publique and various arbitration tribunals, where he was noted for his high level of autonomy and ability to quickly identify and grasp key issues in files.
While practising as in-house legal counsel, he was involved in a number of notable matters of various types. Among other things, he helped reform the company’s hiring process, sat on the Professional Requirements Committee and helped draft, implement and review several corporate policies.
