Amazon.com Inc., Amazon Logistics Inc., and delivery associates who say the online retailer owes them wages must revise a proposed settlement worth more than $3 million before a federal judge will sign off on the deal.
The wage-and-hour settlement’s overall terms are fair, and there’s a basis to award more than $1 million in attorneys’ fees, but it isn’t appropriate to pay three named plaintiffs $10,000 each for their roles in litigating the dispute, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said, denying the settlement motion without prejudice.
