Amazon.com will reimburse its U.S. employees and eligible dependents for up to $4,000 in travel expenses a year for non-life-threatening medical treatments.
An Amazon spokesperson confirmed to Barron’s in an email that the e-commerce company expanded its travel and lodging employee benefit to cover travel for a number of non-life-threatening conditions if a provider is not available within 100 miles of an employee’s home. Reuters first reported the policy, which includes travel to get an abortion.
