Amazon Workers Win Bid to Send Wage Dispute Back to State Court - Bloomberg Law

Amazon.com Inc. failed to keep a proposed 10,000-worker wage-and-hour class action in federal court, after a judge sent the case back to state court in the company’s hometown of Seattle.

The online retail giant, which is one of nearly four dozen defendants, met the Class Action Fairness Act requirements to move the suit to federal court in the first place. But the workers established that CAFA’s home-state controversy exception applies because Amazon is the primary defendant with the greatest potential liability, the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said.
