A federal court dismissed a stockholder’s suit against AMC’s board in light of those directors settling a different case related to their acquisition of Carmike Cinemas.
John Lyon brought the action in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York against AMC CEO Adam Aron and thirteen other current and former executives, alleging the group misled investors and violated their fiduciary duty during the company’s second public offering.
Because the company already settled a federal securities class action in 2019 over the same incident, Judge Andrew L. Carter, Jr. dismissed Lyon’s federal claim March 21. As part ...
