On 29 September 2020, the working group consisting of representatives of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption and the Ministry of Justice together with the AEC-MKD team and the Council of Europe consultant had an online discussion on the last outstanding issues regarding the amendment of the Macedonian whistleblower legislation in line with applicable international standards, as well as international good practice. The working group discussed and agreed on best solutions for amending the legislation and adopted a draft version of the law on whistleblower protection. The draft law shall be discussed, reviewed and adopted by state authorities. The whole process of amendment of the Macedonian whistleblower legislation was supported by the Action against economic crime in North Macedonia within the Council of Europe/European Union Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey- Phase II.
