Anambra police accuse whistleblower of N47m theft - Punch Newspapers

The Anambra State Police Command has said that the National Youths Service Corps member and a whistleblower, Nnamdi Emeh, serving in the state police command, stole the sum of N47 million from a suspect’s account.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Echeng Echeng, stated this in Awka, on Friday, during a press briefing, while disclosing that some other criminal suspects have also been recently arrested and are in custody.

Emeh, a serving corps member was working as an IT consultant to the Anambra State Police Command, and was attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu.

He had through an online platform in January revealed damning evidences of atrocities ranging from organ harvesting and extra-judicial killings allegedly committed by some officers of the state command.

Emeh was declared wanted for impersonation and was subsequently arrested in Benin Republic by INTERPOL operatives, where he was said to have fled to.

While dousing the tension about the whereabouts of the whistleblower, which has been recently shrouded in secrecy, the police commissioner confirmed that Emeh is in its custody, adding that his case is already before the Federal High Court.
