AOC says forcing people back to work after quarantine is 'sociopathic,' claims Omicron is not mild - Daily Mail

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says forcing people back to work after a five-day COVID-19 quarantine is 'sociopathic' and made the false claim that Omicron is not mild despite science supporting otherwise, as she says she is now recovered from the virus.

The Democrat gave an update on Saturday, after it was revealed on Monday, January 10, that she had tested positive for coronavirus.

She shared three photos, one showing two positive test results, one of her cuddling up with her dog and a solo shot of her French bulldog Deco.

'Welp, so it happened. Got COVID, probably omicron. As of today I am thankfully recovered and wrapping up quarantine, but COVID was no joke,' she started off the lengthy caption on Saturday.

AOC went on to claim that Omicron is not mild, despite the fact that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently reported the strain doesn't seem to be as dangerous as the previous Delta variant.

'For a while I've noted the term "mild" is misleading when the bar is hospitalization and death. Even "mild" cases can result in long COVID, which includes a range of conditions like cognitive impairment, POTS, & chronic fatigue,' AOC said of the variant.

The news of AOC's positive COVID test result came just a week after she was snapped partying maskless at a Miami drag brunch on January 2.
