A long-running dispute between Arizona and transgender state employees is coming to an end following Gov. Katie Hobbs’ (D) executive order requiring state health plans to pay for medically necessary gender-affirming care.
The American Civil Liberties Union, which represents a class of state employees led by University of Arizona professor Russell Toomey, said Wednesday that it will ask the US District Court for the District of Arizona to approve a final settlement and end the case.
