The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has sued Northwest Arkansas Hospitals LLC on Thursday, alleging the medical center subjected surgical technician Efrin Chavez to different terms and conditions of employment because of his sex.

The EEOC alleges that from January 2022 to July 2022, doctors Katie Beal and Amy Fry refused to allow Chavez to assist with deliveries, take patient vitals, or perform other duties in the Labor and Delivery Unit because he was a male.
