Pakistan-based propaganda networks and anti-India social media handles have intensified a coordinated misinformation campaign amid the ongoing protests in Delhi, with multiple AI-generated videos, deepfakes and fabricated claims being circulated to mislead the public.
In response, the Indian Army's Fact Check unit and the Press Information Bureau's (PIB) Fact Check team have stepped up efforts to verify viral content, exposing several manipulated videos and false narratives being amplified across social media platforms.

Among the fake content flagged by authorities is an AI-generated deepfake falsely claiming that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned protesting students that they would face the "full force of the state." The Indian Army and PIB Fact Check clarified that the purported statement was entirely fabricated and that the original video had been digitally manipulated using fake audio and misleading captions.
Another doctored video falsely attributed remarks related to the protests to former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.
PIB Fact Check also debunked an AI-manipulated video that falsely showed Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh commenting on the Delhi protests, confirming that the original footage had been altered with AI-generated audio.
Authorities have also rejected viral claims that Army personnel have been deployed against protesters in Delhi or have used force on civilians.
