A Wisconsin man is precluded from proceeding with his False Claims Act suit against Aurora Health Care alleging unnecessary and non-consensual surgeries because he doesn’t have an attorney, a federal district court said.
Larry M. James, a pro se plaintiff, can’t prosecute an FCA whistleblower action, which is in the name of the government, Chief Judge Pamela Pepper of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin said in a Wednesday order dismissing the suit.
“To the extent that the plaintiff wants to pursue a claim under the FCA, he must hire counsel to represent him,” Pepper said. ...
