Baird ‘unhappy with the progress’ of KPMG whistleblower review - AFR
Former NSW premier Mike Baird says he stayed on the KPMG board until he was satisfied that a proper independent investigation was under way into damaging claims made by a former executive at the firm before resigning, unhappy with the way the accounting giant handled the matter.
Baird’s comments, made at a Senate inquiry into the scandal that has rocked one of the country’s largest audit and assurance businesses, is the first time the former NSW premier has publicly outlined why he left the board in September, less than two years into his term.
