Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort is facing accusations that it violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and Rhode Island wage law by systematically underpaying more than 100 tipped employees in a lawsuit filed in federal court in Providence.
Three employees collectively sued Bally’s, alleging the casino took a tip-credit from their wages without satisfying notice requirements, miscalculated their overtime, and improperly reduced their hours by rounding their time.
Bally’s paid these employees a tip-credited, hourly wage that fell well below the state minimum, which ranged from $10.10 to $12.25 per hour, the complaint alleges.
