The Baltic states protested Russia over the spread of disinformation
Diplomats from the Baltic states lodged a protest with the Russian Foreign Ministry against the spread of disinformation by officials of that ministry about Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
A statement on this matter was published on the Estonian MFA website: on July 10, the chargé d’affaires in Moscow for the embassies of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania submitted a joint demarche to the Russian foreign ministry, sharply rejecting the public statements of Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin on July 4.
The document also stressed that the Baltic states had not closed their airspace to any attacks on targets in Russia, and it provides a link to the joint statement by the foreign ministers dated April 10 of this year.
Despite the consistently stated official position of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania at various levels, the Russian side continues to spread lies and escalate the situation. The Baltic states reject Russia’s statements as completely unfounded. Drone intrusions into the airspace of the Baltic states are the result of Russia’s full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine.
