Baltic states reject Moscow’s accusations over drone and airspace claims - Odessa Journal

Diplomats from the Baltic countries visited the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to protest against disinformation spread by officials of the ministry targeting Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

This was stated in a statement published on the website of Estonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"10 July 2026, Chargés d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassies of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania in Moscow made a joint demarche at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, strongly rejecting blatantly false public statements from 4 July 2026 by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Mikhail Galuzin," the statement said.

The diplomats reiterated that the Baltic countries had not opened their airspace for any attacks against targets in Russia, also referring to the joint statement issued by their foreign ministers on April 10 this year.

"Despite consistently communicated official position by Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania at various levels the Russian side continues to spread lies and escalate the situation. The Baltic States reject Russia’s claims as completely unfounded. Incursion of drones into the airspace of Baltic States is the result of Russia’s full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine," the statement said.

The diplomats also rejected other false claims regarding the Baltic countries recently made by Russian Foreign Ministry officials, emphasizing that Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania ensure full respect for the rule of law for all their residents. They...
