BHOPAL: Ashish Chaturvedi, the noted whistleblower and key figure in exposing the Vyapam scam, India's largest recruitment scam in Madhya Pradesh, has become the victim of a bank fraud. The perpetrators fraudulently acquired a vehicle loan using Chaturvedi's personal documents.
Chaturvedi discovered this fraudulent activity only after receiving a notice from the local court. Deeply disturbed by the incident, Chaturvedi wasted no time in filing a complaint with the local police, urging them to launch a thorough investigation into the matter.
Chaturvedi maintains his innocence, stating, "I never took a loan from the bank. I was stunned when I received a court notice regarding overdue payments. It appears that these fraudsters have misused the documents of several prominent individuals, including political leaders, to secure loans."
The loan amount in question is approximately Rs 66,000, which has now escalated to Rs 93,622 due to overdue charges and an 18% interest rate for the extended period of delay.
