Bath woman charged with filing false statement during investigation - Fingerlakes1.com

A 27-year-old Bath woman was arrested after allegedly providing false information during a sworn statement to police assisting with an open case.

According to the Village of Bath Police Department, Arya M. Dickson was taken into custody on July 5 at approximately 3:13 p.m. She was charged with offering a false written instrument for filing in the second degree and making a punishable false written statement, both class A misdemeanors.

Dickson was interviewed as part of an investigation being conducted by another agency. Officers allege that she submitted a sworn statement that included inaccurate information. A follow-up investigation confirmed the discrepancies and resulted in Dickson’s arrest.

She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to Bath Village Court at a later date. Authorities noted that Dickson does not qualify for bail and remains under the supervision of Steuben County Probation.
