White House Accused BBC of Misrepresenting Gaza War Coverage
The Trump administration accused the BBC corporation of misrepresenting its journalism and taking “the word of Hamas.” The dispute followed a fatal incident near a U.S.-backed food distribution site, where Gaza's civil defense agency reported that Israeli gunfire killed at least 31 Palestinians on Sunday.
While the Israeli military denied targeting civilians near the aid center, both the army and the center’s administrator blamed Hamas for spreading false claims. In response to questions about the incident, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt criticized the BBC’s reporting, accusing the broadcaster of taking “the word of Hamas with total truth.”
