Becton Dickinson Must Pay $4.8 Million Over Hernia Mesh Claims - Bloomberg Law
A Rhode Island jury concluded Becton Dickinson & Co. must pay $4.8 million in damages to a man who blamed a hernia mesh sold by one of the company’s units for damaging his bowels and leaving him unable to work, according to his attorney.
- Jurors in state court in Providence, Rhode Island, on Monday found the Ventralex hernia-mesh kit from Becton’s Davol unit was defectively designed and the company didn’t properly warn about device’s health risks, attorney Jonathan Orent said.
