Two marketing companies must face allegations that they failed to properly pay part-time models after a federal judge declined to throw out the wage-and-hour case.

Team Enterprises LLC and New Team LLC—collectively operating as Team Enterprises—argued that the US District Court for the Northern District of California lacks subject-matter jurisdiction over the state-law case. But the workers met the Class Action Fairness Act’s $5 million amount-in-controversy requirement when they sued, Judge William Alsup said.
