Bengaluru police arrest crèche whistleblower for crime involvement - The News Mill

Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh defended the arrest of the whistleblower involved in the crèche abuse case on January 31, stating she was also a participant in the crime. The whistleblower had originally exposed the incidents at an IT firm crèche in east Bengaluru.

Addressing the press, Singh said investigators uncovered substantial evidence suggesting the whistleblower’s involvement. He explained that the investigation examines various factors, including the delay in filing the complaint and the authenticity of the evidence presented by the complainant.

“One is whether what is shown in the viral video and what is the complaint given by the Child Protection Officer, that investigation is going on. As per that investigation, only two people have been arrested. Out of the two persons, one happens to be a whistleblower. Now, the question arises: why did we arrest the whistleblower? There is enough evidence why we have arrested,” Singh said.

He highlighted that procedures related to sensitive issues had not been followed, possibly due to ignorance of the law by the whistleblower. “As per our investigation, as of now, there is a delay of sufficient time and days after the recording of this evidence. So, why was the delay?” he questioned.
