Bengoetxea highlights that the new law provides greater stability and guarantees for access to public employment - Demócrata

The first vice lehendakari and Minister of Culture and Linguistic Policy, Ibone Bengoetxea, has highlighted the recent approval in the Basque Parliament of the reform of the Basque Public Employment Law, understanding that it will provide "greater stability and guarantees" to public employment access processes.

From the Basque Chamber itself, and after the vote on the norm, Bengoetxea recalled that the modification "seeks to respond to the need to offer a solution to the uncertainty generated by various judicial resolutions that had affected public employment calls."

In her speech, she remarked that "it is good news both for public administrations and for the thousands of people who apply for public employment with the expectation of developing their life project in the service of citizens."

The vice lehendakari detailed that the law has a dual purpose. On the one hand, "to guarantee that public services can be provided in both official languages" and, at the same time, "to ensure that any person can exercise their right to access public employment with all guarantees."

In relation to the agreement reached between PNV and EH Bildu to reform the Public Employment Law and strengthen the position of Euskera in the OPEs, she defended that "it is a good law," although she admitted that she would have liked the support in the Basque Parliament to have been broader.
