A Carlstadt police lieutenant says he was subjected to retaliation because of his whistleblowing activities.
In a recently filed lawsuit, Carlstadt Lt. Chris Hasch said he has been subjected to "discriminatory, retaliatory and disparate treatment" at the behest of Police Chief Thomas Cox and nothing has been done to stop it.
The suit contends that Hasch was subjected to a "bogus" internal affairs investigation in 2021. At the same time, Cox was still a lieutenant, and Hasch said the future chief began to treat him "like a political outcast and a competitor for future promotions.
