The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is distancing itself from controversial social media posts circulating online.
Sheriff Rob Blair says the posts, made by an individual known to the agency, included derogatory remarks and false implications of affiliation with the department.
Officials say the individual has been told to stop representing himself as connected to the Sheriff’s Office.
The agency is urging the public to rely only on its verified social media platforms for accurate information and to stay alert for online misinformation and scams.
