UPDATE: Even with the devout Catholic that Joe Biden is, the former president isn’t taking Donald Trump’s new Department of Justice investigation into his cognitive state and command of the White House during his term by turning the other cheek.
“Let me be clear: I made the decisions during my presidency,” the 46th POTUS said in a statement early Thursday after his predecessor and successor took his deepest dig at the 82-year-old Democrat yet. “I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations. Any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false.”
For years the currently 78-year-old Trump has thrown shade on the admittedly sometimes addled Biden over the mental capacity of the man who beat him in 2020. Since Biden’s disastrous debate performance last year, the incumbent’s exit from the race and Trump’s return to office after defeating then-VP Kamala Harris, the now 47th POTUS has said over and over that others in the Biden White House actually ran things and even used an auto-pen to sign executive orders, pardons and more.
On Wednesday as the very public legislative feud with ex-top donor and DOGE chief Elon Musk escalated, Trump took it a step further when he unveiled an memo on “Reviewing Certain Presidential Actions,” along with a new travel ban on a dozen countries.
