Bill Belichick Claims CBS Created ‘False Narrative’ About Wildly Bizarre Interview - NESN

Things just keep getting stranger and stranger with Bill Belichick.

The legendary New England Patriots coach broke his silence Wednesday, releasing a statement about the recent bizarre interview that took place with “CBS Sunday Morning,” which was intended to promote his new book, “The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football.”

Instead, Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, stole all the headlines as she was shown shutting down a question about how the couple met and reportedly was an overall nuisance on the set.

Belichick in his statement, which was put out by the University of North Carolina where he is the head football coach, said he expected the interview to be solely about his book and defended Hudson by claiming CBS edited the interview to create a “false narrative” around Hudson’s involvement.

“I agreed to speak with ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ to promote my new book, ‘The Art of Winning — Lessons from My Life in Football.’ Prior to this interview, I clearly communicated with my publicist at Simon & Schuster that any promotional interviews I participated in would agree to focus solely on the contents of the book.

“Unfortunately, that expectation was not honored during the interview. I was surprised when unrelated topics were introduced, and I repeatedly expressed to the reporter, Tony Dokoupil, and the producers that I preferred to keep the conversation centered...
