Billionaire Bill Ackman Mistakenly Asks College Sports Conference to Do Something About Dubious ABC News Debate ‘Whistleblower’ - Mediaite
Pershing Square CEO Bill Ackman mistakenly called upon a college athletic conference to investigate ABC’s supposed sabotage of its recent presidential debate.
Earlier in the week, multiple prominent conservative figures – including Ackman, Elon Musk, and Ted Cruz – reposted an alleged affidavit from a “whistleblower” within the network. According to the document, ABC allegedly agreed to the condition that the moderators not ask any questions about the “perceived health of President Joe Biden.” The whistleblower also claimed in the affidavit that Vice President Kamala Harris was briefed on the questions ahead of her debate with Donald Trump.
The problem with the document, however, was the fact that it was riddled with errors and came from a questionable outlet.
Despite concerns about the legitimacy of the source, Ackman has continued to push the claims of the supposed whistleblower. On Tuesday, he called upon the SEC to investigate ABC and The Walt Disney Company – its parent company – to get to the bottom of the situation.
“Come to think of it, I am going to alert the @SEC directly about @Disney, @ABC and their misleading response to the whistleblower’s accusations about the presidential debate,” Ackman said.
