A former Tesla security worker who was allegedly fired after uncovering millions of dollars worth of theft tied to organized crime at the company's Nevada factory has said Twitter employees should be worried about Elon Musk.
Karl Hansen, 50, worked as a security investigator at Tesla's sprawling gigafactory, which makes the batteries that power the company's electric vehicles.
He said he was reassigned, iced out and eventually fired for raising concerns about the theft of raw materials totaling up to $150million, according to an ongoing lawsuit filed in July 2019 in federal court in Nevada.
'I would say, sure, Twitter employees should maintain a high level of awareness and be concerned,' Hansen told DailyMail.com.
Musk himself became 'infuriated' when he saw Hansen at the factory, causing a supervisor to suggest hiding him in 'the hills,' according to the lawsuit.
The cost of the stolen materials would have forced the company to disclose the issue to shareholders, possibly affecting the company's valuation, Hansen claims.
Twitter employees are wary of the entrepreneur's plans for the social media site, even after he tried to assuage them by calling for his 'worst critics' to remain on the platform because 'that is what free speech means.'
