Hyderabad: Taking strong exception to the chief minister Revanth Reddy’s remarks on the Centre and also on union minister Kishan Reddy on phase II of the Hyderabad metro rail project, BJP said the CM was spreading lies only to cover up his own failures. The party dared the CM to come for a debate on central assistance to the Telangana state.In a statement on Monday, BJP state chief official spokesperson N.V. Subhash said the CM’s comments on Hyderabad’s development and central funding are nothing but blatant falsehoods. He alleged that Revanth Reddy is making petty accusations against the union minister and PM Modi govt solely to divert public attention from his administration’s failures.The BJP leader said the CM has begun this campaign of false propaganda and crocodile tears out of fear that the Congress party is headed for a crushing defeat in the upcoming GHMC elections. “The Centre has provided an initial tranche of Rs. 1,200 crore in central funding for Hyderabad metro phase-1 and made the 69-kilometre line operational under the PPP model. It was strange that the CM seemed to have forgotten that PM personally inaugurated it,” he said.Subhash said that the Centre has already granted in-principle approval for Phase-2 and is prepared to bear 50% of the cost.
