A hospital’s D&I manager has been exposed as a “breath-taking” fraud, after it emerged he lied about his experience, made up CIPD certifications, and hid a conviction for racially aggravated assault.
Philip Waldman, 38, was hired as the Brighton and Sussex University Hospital Trust’s diversity & inclusivity manager in January 2019 and worked there for over six months.
The manager’s lies were exposed in an investigation after bosses became suspicious of the authenticity of his job references.
In a subsequent court case, Waldman was handed a suspended prison sentence, with a judge describing his actions as “carefully planned fraud.
