A police officer who admitted making more than 50 fabricated complaints about the performance of his own force while suspended from duty has been ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
Many of the emails sent by Jack Wood, 32, of Warmley, South Gloucestershire, specifically targeted Sgt Maz Collacott-Nuur, his superior at Avon and Somerset Police.
He used multiple fake email accounts and two fake Facebook accounts to contact local councillors, the force's police and crime commissioner, chief constable and MPs.
Wood was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court earlier after he pleaded guilty to harassment without violence of Collacott-Nuur and causing wasteful employment of police.
In addition to unpaid work, he was also given a restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim for the next two years, and ordered to pay 114 surcharge and 85 in court costs.
Kevin Withey, prosecuting, told the court Wood had joined the force in 2018 based in Bath, before moving to the Ashley neighbourhood policing team in Bristol in 2020.
He and Collacott-Nuur had previously been colleagues on the same level, but "their friendship ran into difficulty" when she became his superior.
"The defendant had a perception [the victim] was taking sides and favouring a female officer over him," Withey said.
"[The emails] commented that the defendant was the only competent and effective member of that team."
