Goldy Hyder, CEO of the Business Council of Canada, tells BNN Bloomberg that the BC ports strike has already gone on for too long, and that the government must take urgent steps to pass back-to-work legislation to end the strike and also demonstrate its commitment to support other Canadian workers who are being affected by the strike. He says the strike is affecting various businesses that may need to curtail operations or lay off workers. He adds that the strike will make inflation worse and have a negative impact on Canada’s reputation as a reliable trade partner.
