Business slams ACTU for ‘false claims’ on war-linked price gouging - afr.com

Business groups accused the ACTU of using the fuel crisis to reignite false claims about supermarket price gouging after the peak union body urged the Albanese government to fast-track new rules banning excessive price hikes because of the Iran war.

The ACTU on Wednesday urged Treasurer Jim Chalmers to change the start date for the Food and Grocery Code’s new price-gouging ban and higher penalties from July 1 to as soon as possible.
