Busta Rhymes is clapping back. The Hip-Hop heavyweight has officially countersued his former assistant, Dashiel Gables, who earlier this year accused the rapper of assault and workplace abuse.

According to Billboard, Rhymes, born Trevor Smith Jr, filed the counterclaim in federal court on Monday (October 13), alleging that Gables:
“knew the statements were false, or acted with reckless disregard for the truth, including by fabricating allegations of criminal conduct and violence, omitting exculpatory facts and deliberately ignoring contrary evidence.”
The rapper’s legal team argues that the false claims have tarnished his reputation, even costing him two major campaigns, Rhymes claimed:
“Apparently, Dashiel has decided to respond to being let go by manufacturing claims against me in an attempt to attack and damage my reputation.”
Gable’s attorney, however, maintains his client’s story, saying that:
“There is absolutely no basis for the counterclaims, and we stand by our client and his lawsuit. The evidence will corroborate our account of the events.”
Gable’s initial suit accused the rapper of violent outbursts and physical aggression, and claims he was yelled at and punched several times. Rhymes repeatedly denied the allegations.
With both sides digging in, this legal feud shows no signs of slowing down.
